Praise the LORD for True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church!

The members of the Filipino Bible Study praise the Lord God Almighty and rejoice with the rest of the saints for the 12th year of the blessed ministry of True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church. The Lord’s abounding grace and mercy have been manifested and spread through this church to the Filipinos who are working here in Singapore and their families back in the Philippines.

It is our prayer that the Lord will preserve True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church to continue her God-given mission to preach and teach God’s Word into all the world and to faithfully defend the inspired and preserved Scriptures from the attacks of the enemy.

Below are a few of the many wonderful testimonies of God’s marvelous working through this church.

“After 6 months of working with my employer Mr. David and Mrs. Maria Ong, I came across and read Sunday after Sunday the True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church Weekly Bulletin. I also received Christian tracts three times from True Life BPC through a student of FEBC whom I met, Bro. Herbert and from the grandmother of Sharon of Gethsemane BPC. I was also introduced to the maid of Mrs. Adrienne Foo and we exchange contacts. She was the one who first invited me to True Life BPC.

“It was one of the family worship cum prayer meetings that was held at my employer’s house. I remembered Bro Jose Mangco and Bro Thaddeus talking to me and encouraging me to join the then Filipina Bible Study. By the grace of our Lord I got the courage to talk to my employer if I could go with them to church that Sunday. From that Sunday, I regularly worshipped in True Life BPC every Lord’s Day. It was Sister Jenny Kan who first shared to me the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and she led me to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. By God’s grace and mercy I understood from the book of Luke about Mary. By the help of God I became interested to read the Bible regularly and try to memorize a few verses.

“One Sunday, Sister Wendy gave me a form to seek for water baptism. I did not have to think twice. I filled the form immediately and I signed it for the sacrament of baptism, The Lord guided me to attend completely the catechism which was required for water baptism. My employers were surprised and happy to know I was attending the catechism. I praise the Lord who opened my eyes to see and know the truth! Hopefully and I pray the Lord will use my employers as His instruments to bring another maid who will replace me into the knowledge of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ alone!” – Feliza de Vera (She is now back in Pangasinan, Philippines for good.)

“Before I became a believer of Christ, I worshiped Mary and statues of saints. In June 2005, God gave me the chance to work here in Singapore as a domestic helper. I worked for a Christian family in the home of the late Elder Eric Mahadevan and his wife Elizabeth Mahadevan and family. They brought me to church every Sunday to attend the church service and Filipina Bible Study. At home they shared to me the Gospel.

“In April 2007, the Lord moved my heart and I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I thank Ma’am Elizabeth Mahadevan, Ma’am Suzanne and Dr Malcolm Mahadevan and his wife Dr Sheila and her family. I thank them for their advice, prayers and for everything because I know that having a good Christian family employer like them did not just happened by chance, only by God’s will.

“As a Christian, God tested my faith in Him. Last 9th of July 2009, I lost my wallet with my work permit, cash and other important cards or credentials while working here in Singapore. I praise and thank God, a kind and good-hearted person found it and by God’s grace it was returned to me. All was intact; nothing was lost. In November 2003, I was one of those whose families in the Philippines were badly affected by the typhoon Haiyan. But the Lord helped my family in wonderful ways and comforted me. Not only that, I lost my husband last February 26, 2015. But all trials and testing in life did not change my faith in Him. Instead I thank the Lord my God. That the trials I faced had strengthened my faith and I thank God that He is always there for me whether in good times or in difficult times.

“Now I know that God has sent me here in Singapore not only to work in order to earn money to support my family but also to know the Lord Jesus Christ personally and to entrust my life in His hands. I pray that this faith I have now will continue to give me courage and wisdom not only while I am here in Singapore but even when I go back to Philippines.

“So to anyone who has not yet received Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Saviour, I would like to urge you to receive Him now while there is still a chance. I repeat this invitation to all my countrymen and friends who are here today and have yet to receive Jesus as His Saviour and Lord, I invite you again to receive Him as your Lord and Saviour today while there is yet opportunity.

“I want to share also these two verses from the Bible that remind me always in my daily life. 1 John 2:15-16 says, ‘Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.’ Amen.” – Alicia Homeres (This testimony was given during the Filipino Bible Study Gospel Rally on August 30, 2015.)

Dear Pastor Jeffrey,

Greetings in the blessed name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. By the grace of God and True Life BPC’s prayers and support, we are fine and doing well. Praise God.

Thank God all the children are schooling happily and studying hard day and night. I am always guiding and leading the High School students in their study classes. I also guide them in reading the Bible and praying to God every morning and evening. There is also prayer meeting every Friday night and worship service on Sunday. The children are growing more and more in their spiritual, physical and educational life. Praise God.

There are 11 matriculation students (5 boys and 6 girls). May these 11 students do well in their final examinations in March 2016. If they can do well and pass matriculation, they can continue their studies in university or Bible college etc. Please pray for these 11 students. They are studying hard and doing their best. I also called for the special teachers to teach them their school lessons as well. I hope that as they study hard day and night, they can do well in their final exams.

New Life Orphan CentrePastor, you advised me to plant banana trees and other trees when you visited NLOC in March 2010. After that we planted many kinds of trees behind and in front of NLOC. There are two kinds of banana trees—short banana tree and tall banana tree. Not only banana trees, we also planted mango trees and others trees. Thank God for the banana trees and other trees surrounding NLOC.

The children are so happy and thankful to God and to you and to True Life BPC for praying and cheerful love gifts for NLOC. To God be the glory. I and my family and all the children pray for you and for True Life BPC and FEBC always.

Yours in Christ,

Brother Thang No
