PILGRIM TESTIMONIES

I thank God for bringing my whole family to visit the Holy Land together. It is indeed a blessing to be there and see His Words come alive. Being there also let me appreciate the terrains and situations as described in the Bible better. God has been good to His people and fulfilled His many promises. I will continue to trust in God and obey His commandments. Pollyanna Hwang

I thank God for the precious time spent as a pilgrim in the Holy Land together with my family. I have learnt many lessons through visiting the various biblical sites and am encouraged to study the Bible more in the coming year. Thank God for the great weather and also the many blessings showered upon the pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage. Belle Tan

Through this Holy Land Pilgrimage, I feel that I have drawn closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is really inspiring to see how God preserves His people and keeps His promises to us. May we always continue to trust in Jesus and live our lives for Christ. Benn Tan

The trip was no ordinary tour because the twelve days involved not only good food and hospitality, but most important of all, visiting the actual sites of the biblical accounts and occurrences. I thank the Lord in particular for protecting me from injuries when I tripped and actually fell, yet unhurt. Poh Puay Yong

Thank God for His providence for this Holy Land trip. This is my first Holy Land trip with my husband. It was indeed a memorable trip. I was able to appreciate better the location of places mentioned in the Bible. The feeling was indeed beyond words when I walked the path of our Lord Jesus in Jerusalem. Chiang Ching Ching

Thank God for His grace and mercy on our pilgrimage. It is a wonderful privilege to step into the gates of Jerusalem, the Holy City of our God. As we marched into Mount Zion, the songs rang loud in my heart. What joy and peace the Lord bestowed upon my heart to draw from the living waters in complete trust in Him. Victor Lee

Thank God that I was able to be part of this pilgrimage organized by FEBC. As we journeyed in the Holy Land, it is truly the Bible coming alive. Israel is a place that has experienced more battles and miracles than any other country on earth because we truly see God’s Almighty Hand on Israel to fulfil His prophecies and His plan as recorded in His Holy Scripture. All thanks and praise to God. Jane Koh

I want to thank God for this blessed trip with my girls. Although my mother-in-law and friends told us not to go as the place is unsafe, we went ahead with this verse encouraging us: Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Tan Suay Choo

Thank God for blessing and keeping us throughout the pilgrimage. Truly it was a biblical journey from Dan to Beersheba. I have learnt so much. As we journeyed through the Holy Land with our Bibles opened, the places we visited were made so alive. What a blessing to be studying the words of God in such a way. I pray to continue learning the words of God faithfully. Amen. Katharine Kiew

I truly thank God for such an eye-opening and fruitful trip. Despite many questions from friends on my sanity, I trust the Lord in every step of my way knowing that God knows what is ahead of me. I thank God for keeping us safe throughout. “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35). Esther Kiew

I thank God for the opportunity for my family and I to go on this pilgrimage. Thank God for his blessings and mercy that we have witnessed. This pilgrimage to Holy Land allows me to learn and understand the Bible better and I feel encouraged to learn more. Sarah Kiew

I thank God for making it possible to revisit the Holy Land again. During this trip, I got to see and learn from a different perspective even though we visited the same sites. God willing, I would like my children to go too. Thank God also for His sufficient grace to protect all the pilgrims throughout our journey. Elizabeth Wong

It was good to be back in the Holy Land again. I was there in 2009. Two weeks before the trip, I was having a sore throat and it later developed into a very bad cough. But thank God that the moment the journey started, my cough stopped! I am thankful to God who provided us with a very enthusiastic and informative guide Mark Sugarman, and also for the daily Bible studies led by Pastor in this pilgrimage. Miranda Soh

I thank the Lord for another opportunity to step onto the Holy Land—Israel—a land of both spiritual and physical blessings, a land of prophecies, a land where the true and living God is dwelling among His chosen people, a land that is called a land ‘flowing with milk and honey’. This is my second trip to Israel; it is still a trip filled with a lot of excitement, much learning and much to explore. Truly the Lord blesses them that bless Israel. Ow Kuan Tai

We saw ruins/remnants of palaces, synagogues, temples or gates of walls, garden tomb as well as streets/lanes that have become commercialized. I wondered what all this meant to me. At the calm Sea of Galilee, it warmed my heart that all may change but Jesus remains the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13:8). Suzy

Prior to my trip, my family members were worried about my safety as there was some tension in Israel for some months and also my Christian friends telling me about cancellation of their trips. I really thank the Lord that I was not affected and I went by faith. I had a blessed and fruitful time in Israel. We had a knowledgeable Jewish guide who gave us detailed explanation on each place we visited. The Lord really preserved me and all of us during the whole pilgrimage even though we walked six kilometres in one of the days. But Jesus walked so many times more when He was on earth. Agnes Beh

It felt so wonderful and amazing to know that I really was there where Jesus was, at the southern steps of the Second Temple where He preached and where so many got to hear the Word of God. I thank God for His grace in allowing me to experience this. I gained a lot from this trip, things that cannot be gotten from just reading the Bible. I want to grow more in the knowledge of the Lord. Sophia Cheow

Thanks unto God almighty for giving me the chance to go to His promised land with my family. It was truly a blessing being physically present at ancient tels and the holy city Jerusalem. This helped me understand the proximity of the places mentioned in the Bible. The daily spiritual lessons from pastor Khoo really helped me with my personal walk with God, strengthening my faith in Him. Josiah Cheow

This pilgrimage to the holy land gave me a much better idea of how Jesus lived when he came down to earth 2000 years ago. I was also extremely excited to have been able to actually walk the steps where Jesus stepped on and go to places where Jesus performed different miracles. It feels so surreal, but it actually did happen, and I’m truly glad that I came. Victoria Cheow

Thank God for the opportunity of being in the Promised Land. The experience of walking down the Mount of Olives, past the Garden of Gethsemane up the hills of Jerusalem, or trekking among the caves of Ein Gedi, or gazing at the Sea of Galilee from where Jesus Christ gave His Sermon on the Mount is incomparable and unforgettable. Leanne Joy

It truly was a blessing to read the Biblical events while walking through the Holy Land. I was able to gain a better understanding of the landscape, terrain and environment where the Israelites and also Christ lived. We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ps 122:6) and for the salvation of the Jewish people. Maaik Noordzy

I thank God for sustaining and preserving my heart in good condition as we trekked in Engedi and walked the roads of Jerusalem, to the Mount Olives, Temple Mount and Mount Zion. Thank God for Mark Sugarman, our Jewish guide for sharing with the pilgrims his wealth of Bible knowledge and experience. Thank God for preserving the safe return of the 44 pilgrims. “The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” (Ps 121:8). Chua Peng Hwa

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thess 5:18). I want to thank God for allowing me to join the pilgrimage to Cyprus, Israel and Jordan. God has been so good. He protected us all the way. I have visited many places which were mentioned in the Bible. It is a blessing to visit all these places and the ruins personally. My favourite site is Tel Dan, because there is a stream flowing into the Jordan River, which give life to many areas of the Holy Land. Amos Chua

I enjoyed going to the Holy Land. This is my second visit. Thinking that Israel is a relatively small country, I was prepared for re-visits to most of the historic and biblical sites. However to my surprise most of the places visited in this Pilgrimage were new to me. I am glad and thankful that God has blessed me with more than what I have expected in this trip. Praise the LORD! Let’s continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ps 122:6). Lee Yoot Ming

The Lord certainly has been with us in our journey. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.”  (Ps 89:1). Wee May Lee
