EVANGELISTIC TRACTS
Christmas is just round the corner. We have an evangelistic Christmas tract called “What If There Is No Christmas?” (English and Chinese) for you to use to reach out to family and friends with the gospel of Christ.
There is also a general gospel tract called “The Romans’ Road to Salvation” (English and Indonesian) printed by Truth Bible-Presbyterian Church. Use it to share the gospel with your Indonesian colleagues, employees, and friends.
Get the tracts from the reception table in church.
For your Filipino friends, there is a booklet on Salvation (Q&A) in Tagalog: Kaligtasan: Mga Tanong at Mga Sagot. This is from the RPG Ministry of Calvary Pandan Bible-Presbyterian Church. The translation is done by the Missions Bible Center of our Filipino Bible Fellowship. Get as many as you need from Rev Dr Jose Lagapa or from brother Deccarlo Igot or from any of the FilBFers.
VIRTUAL EVANGELISM
Since the lockdown, FEBC students have been doing “virtual evangelism”. They use the social media to reach out to the lost with the gospel of Christ. Deccarlo (MDiv student) as chaplain led in this online ministry. Here are reports submitted by some students:
Martin: Thank God for the opportunity to share the Word of God to others. I am sharing our RPG through my Facebook—not only RPG for adults but also RPG for juniors. Please pray that many people will read the Word of God and believe God and His Word.
Kharis: Sharing the gospel to the gambling community, to those whom I had worked with before I entered Bible College.
Stephen: Following up with relatives and reaching out to those who are backsliding. and sending them devotionals like the RPG.
Sin Piang: Reaching out to one Bible study member who is a Buddhist. Pray for more opportunities to share the gospel fully.
Mega: Thank God for His help and for courage to share the RPG (both Senior and Junior) to family members and Indonesian Bible Study members every day. Pray that God’s Word will lead some to salvation.
Joyce: Thank God for the Korean Bible study conducted by my father. Pray that the Korean brethren will grow in their faith and knowledge of God.
Crisa: Thank God for weekly lessons to the children in my hometown, and for the opportunity to preach the gospel to a homosexual cousin. Thank God for convicting one former student to join the morning devotion via WhatsApp. She misses studying God’s Word and praying with us.
Thien Kim: Thank God for helping me teach in the Vietnamese Sunday School. Pray for the children to be attentive and be able to learn much from God’s Word.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
Christmas this year is going to be quieter for obvious reasons. This year, we are going to commemorate it virtually via Zoom. On Saturday, December 19 at 3pm, the children will have a Christmas meeting online. A special programme has been planned out for them by Mabel and Joycelyn. Do invite your friends to attend as well. Let’s engage in virtual evangelism.
There will be a Christmas Carol Service on Christmas Eve, Thursday, 8pm. The choir will sing a repertoire of Christmas carols. Instead of going from house to house, we shall be caroling online that night. Invite your family or friends to your home, and cast the service on TV or a widescreen. Pastor will give the Christmas message.
The links or meeting IDs will be sent to you via Telegram. Register with Dn Kay Heem if you are not yet on the Telegram mailing list or write to admin@truelifebpc.org.sg.
WATCHNIGHT@GODHILL
“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” (Mark 13:33)
2021 is coming! How do we end the year and prepare for the New Year? Very few if any will be drinking and partying into the New Year this time. Thanks to Covid-19. As Christians, we should not be drinking and partying away, but watching and praying, spending quiet time with God and His Word, and having communion with Him in the final hours of the year.
Watchnight on New Year’s Eve will be at Godhill. There are 4 timings: (1) 7.30–8.30pm, (2) 8.45–9.45pm, (3) 10.00–11.00pm, (4) 11.15pm–midnight. Seats are limited to 50 per session. Go to church website at www.truelifebpc.org.sg for registration. For True Lifers only.
WATCHDOG FOR GOD
Life Church and FEBC used to have a very faithful watchdog—her name was Peepa. She was not only alert but also intelligent—she would bark only at strangers, not church members and FEBC students. She seems to know who is who—who belongs and who doesn’t. Are we as alert and discerning considering the signs of the times?
Here’s the story of Peepa as told by our late founding pastor, the Rev Dr Timothy Tow (Life Weekly, 31 Dec 1984).
Peepa Our Dog
One night several months ago I heard a doggie barking downstairs. The next morning I found her sleeping on the doormat at the bottom of our staircase. She wagged sheepishly and looked lovingly into my eyes. Why, we were like old friends meeting after a long absence. Ever since she has become the mascot of the whole Gilstead Rd family. She allows herself to be fondled by little children. She is tame as a lamb.
As time went on she gave birth to four puppies. Two were given away, one got stolen, and one blackie remains with her mother. Peepa is our pet all the same.
A good watchdog, she will bark at suspicious characters coming into the Church compound at night. A faithful dog to both God and men. Are inmates of the Church-College complex as faithful and loving as Peepa? T.T.
Peepa lived for about 13 or 14 years (ie about 74 years in human terms). She was a Godsend and she served her Master well. JK
