DAILY VACATION BIBLE COLLEGE
Far Eastern Bible College (FEBC) will offer three courses this college vacation, May 10 to July 2, 2021, to facilitate ongoing theological education. The study of the Bible and of theology is vital considering the times in which we live. “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;… Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” (1 Tim 4:1,16).
Onsite-Online Courses
The courses will be taught on campus with live streaming. Full-time students of FEBC will take the courses on campus at the FEBC Hall. Part-time or lay students will take the courses off campus, online. The lectures can be viewed live on the day and time in which they are given. After which the lectures will remain online or uploaded for convenient access to all students who wish to review the lectures.
Course Descriptions
ANGELS AND DEMONS
Mondays, May 10–June 28, 9–11am, One credit, by Rev Dr Jeffrey Khoo
This course is on Angelology—the study or the doctrine of angels in the light of the Holy Scriptures. What are angels, why do they exist, and what do they do? How did the devil and his demons come into existence? Can Christians be possessed by demons, and can we cast out demons today? These are some of the questions we will seek to answer in this comprehensive study of angels and demons.
THE EPISTLE OF JUDE
Wednesdays, May 12–June 30, 9–11am,
One credit, by Rev Dr Jose Lagapa
This course is an inductive study of the Epistle of Jude in the English Bible with reference to the original Greek text for its interpretation. It will be an expository study of the Epistle verse by verse so as to understand its contents and its relevance for our lives today.
JESUS THE MASTER TEACHER
Fridays,May 14–July 2, 9–11am,

This course is a study of the way our Lord Jesus taught when He was on earth. “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” (1 Tim 4:16).
More on Angels and Demons
Angels and demons fascinate people. Hollywood churns out tons of movies on angels, especially the fallen ones—Satan and demons. More often than not, they give a false depiction of Satan as an horrible-looking, ugly and scary being, when actually he is good looking, charming and attractive to mesmerise and deceive his victims (2 Cor 11:14).
Christians need to know their enemy. Unfortunately, theological textbooks seldom discuss in any great detail the doctrine of angels. Charles Ryrie of Dallas Theological Seminary said, “When areas of theology are slighted, this will likely be one of them, at least in standard books of theology. One has only to note the amount of space devoted to angelology in standard theologies to demonstrate this…. Even Calvin was cautious in discussing this subject.” (Basic Theology, 137).
We should be cautious as well in our study to know more about the invisible realm of angels and demons. Our study must come from the Holy Word—the Scriptures, and not from a Hollywood script. Only the Bible gives us a totally accurate picture of them.
This is a brand new course that is offered for the first time at FEBC. What are angels? Where do they come from? How many are there? Do we have personal guardian angels? These questions and many more will be answered in this course. Sixty pages of lecture notes have been prepared for this study by your pastor. Sign up for credit and work your way towards your certificate.

Thank God we emerged from last year—a most unusual and difficult year—rather unscathed. It is by the grace of God that we have remained intact as a church in the face of the trials and troubles posed by COVID-19. There may be more hard times to come, but let us remain faithful and hope in the Lord. JK
