FILIPINO BIBLE STUDY

Filipino Gospel Meeting
A Combined Meeting of True Life BPC – Filipino Bible Fellowship and Filipino Bible Study
Calvary Pandan Bible-Presbyterian Church
March 29, 2015
“Am I a Child of God?” (John 1:10-13)
The Filipino Bible Study is a ministry of True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church. There is a need to teach the Word of God to Filipino workers here in Singapore. The aims are thus to bring the lost to “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21), and to help believers “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Pet 3:18

Twofold Ministry
The ministry is twofold, it actively evangelizes the Filipinos here in Singapore, and also encourages the believers to reach out to their relatives in the Philippines. In Singapore we conduct a Bible study at True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church every Lord’s Day morning from 9:15 to 10:15. Currently we are studying the Book of Genesis. There is also a Filipino Bible Fellowship at Calvary Pandan BPC every first and third Lord’s Day afternoon, 1:30-3:00. (An outreach Bible study was held once a month in the home of Roland Tay’s father until his father passed away last April.)
Every second Sunday, there is a gospel tract distribution along Orchard Road. This evangelistic activity is for the Filipinos congregating in that area on Sundays. English tracts are also given out for all other nationalities as well. Some members participate in this activity in obedience to Christ’s command to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
This ministry is a great opportunity not only to reach out to those who are working here in Singapore, but also to their relatives back in the Philippines. Many who are graciously and mercifully saved by God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ have reached out to their relatives with the gospel. God has promised, “so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isa 55:11). Below are a few examples:
Pangasinan

Gethsemane BP Mission Church – Pangasinan
Lisa de Vera’s family and immediate relatives are attending a weekly Bible Study led by Preacher Donald de la Cruz. The study is held in Lisa’s home. A Mission Church of Gethsemane Bible-Presbyterian Church was inaugurated last year in Dagupan, Pangasinan. We pray the Lord will save souls and bring them to attend the church in Dagupan. Lisa is now back in Pangasinan for good and giving herself to whatever she can to help Pr Donald for the ministries in Pangasinan.
Leyte
Alicia Homeres went back to the Philippines last year to visit her family. By God’s providence, Pastor John Pagliawan, a minister of the gospel of a Baptist church in Tanauan, Leyte, came to Singapore to attend a Mission’s Conference of Gethsemane BPC last June. He was introduced by Pr Dennis Kabingue. Pastor John willingly ministered the family of Alicia. We pray the Word of God that was preached will convict hearts and bring them to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Negros Occidental
Manuela Heng recently went back to visit her relatives in Bago City, Philippines. One of her major concerns was to gather her relatives together so that they might hear the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. This desire is a manifestation of a believer’s heart following the Lord Jesus Christ to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).
Nelly de La Cruz is reaching out to her family by introducing them to a nearby Bible-believing church. Her children and a friend who takes care of her children are currently attending this church every Lord’s Day, and are being ministered to by Pastor Roger Occida in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Misamis Oriental
Maria Celeste Lagapa takes every opportunity in mission trips to get her immediate relatives to attend a Bible study. The Bible study brings good news of salvation to them and encourages those who already believe to live for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mission Trips
Two recent mission trips were made to Mindanao in December 2014 and May 2015. The Young People’s Bible Conference was held last December in Central Mindanao University, Musuan, Bukidnon. We praise the Lord that through this conference, Aprilaiza Sible came to know FEBC. Dr Einstine Opiso, an FEBC online student, recommended her to study in FEBC. In May this year, the following activities were conducted in Gingoog City in cooperation with Gingoog Fundamental Baptist Church: Vacation Bible School, Teens Bible Day Camp, Bible Classes for Every Christian, and Church Workers Bible Seminar. The Lord willing another Bible Conference for Pastors will be held at the end of this year. It was through these conferences that Raggi Aungon, now a student in FEBC, got the burden to further his theological studies.

Special Meetings
The Filipino Bible Fellowship in Calvary Pandan BPC in coordination with the Filipino Bible Study-True Life BPC held a Gospel Meeting last March 29, 2015. The Lord blessed the meeting with 10 visitors. It was held in Calvary Pandan BPC Audio Visual Room with the theme “Am I a Child of God?” taken from John 1:10-13.
A Gospel Rally will be held in RELC Room 602 this coming August 30, 2015 at 1:30 pm with the theme “Will I Enter Heaven?” from Matthew 7:21-23. This rally not only desires to reach out to the Filipinos with the Gospel but also strengthen the faith of members as they exercise their love for lost souls.
Please continue to pray for the Filipino Bible Study that souls may come to be saved and the believers will be strengthened and encouraged in the faith.
