FILIPINO BIBLE FELLOWSHIP

The Filipino Bible Fellowship (FilBF) is a ministry of True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church (TLBPC) and meets at 3 pm every Lord’s Day. The meeting commences with a time of prayer. The meeting proper begins at 3 and ends at about 4:30 pm. After which there is a 15-minute long “bitesize” Bible lesson dubbed “Nuggets of Wisdom” (NOW). This is followed by light refreshments.

The meeting was held in the Upper Room until we moved to Godhill on 7^th October when our pastor directed us to change to a bigger and more accessible venue. This new place opens a greater vision for FilBF to reach out even more to the Filipinos who are working here in Singapore that they may know the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The FilBF continues to aim for God’s glory through the centrality of God’s Word to nurture the spiritual growth of Filipino Christians who attend the meetings and to evangelize those still outside God’s Kingdom. We believe in the Biblical principle as found in and shown by the early church, “… the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly” (Acts 6:7). The Lord helps us so that His Word will have the preeminence in every part of our ministry.

The FilBF evangelistic band goes to the Orchard Road area and recently to Toa Payoh Town Park on Sundays (12:30–1:30 pm) to distribute tracts and share the Gospel to fellow Filipinos. Although the response based on those who come to the Fellowship may seem insignificant, it is the joy of the members to glorify the name of Christ through the teaching of the way of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the Scriptures alone and to the glory of God alone! Week after week, the FilBF finds it a worthwhile endeavor to make Him known among those who are still blinded by sin. We pray that God will be gracious and merciful to open their eyes to see the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ which “is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” (Rom 1:16).

The Lord’s name be praised for 7 who confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and attended the catechism classes. They were baptized on Easter Sunday, 2018. Please pray for them that they may hunger for God’s Word and that they may mature in the faith. In His perfect time they will be able to minister to others.

Pastor Jeffrey Khoo spoke to us during the “FilBF Meets the Session” event on 7^th January and in the 2^nd Anniversary Thanksgiving cum Gospel Meeting on 29^th July. We thank the Lord for the boundless support of the TLBPC Session and members for the FilBF. On 23^rd December, a Christmas Gospel Meeting was held. The Lord brought some newcomers and supportive members from TLBPC.

Others who co-laboured with me in the preaching of God’s Word in 2018 were Rev Reggor Galarpe, Pastor Renato Cortez, Elder Douglas Ho, Preacher Dennis Kabingue and Bro Samuel Goh. Thank the Lord who provides our pulpit with messengers who are faithful to the doctrines of the inspiration and preservation of God’s Word especially in these days of unbelief and apostasy. The messages will continue to come from a study of the Gospel of Matthew.

Christian Bible Fellowship in Lapu-Lapu City

A missions outreach, Christian Bible Fellowship (CBF), started on 28^th October 2018 in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. The Bible study meetings were conducted by brothers Deccarlo Igot, Jude Gabales, and Stephen Gillegao in AA Restaurant, Lapu-Lapu City until December 23^rd.

The CBF is now renting an apartment (SGD260 per month) for the regular venue of the Sunday meetings, future VBS and other ministries. This is much better than the SGD100 per Sunday at the restaurant. It serves also as a place to stay for TLBPC and FilBF members who may go to Cebu or transit via Cebu since it is so near the airport. Please pray for this missions work that souls will be saved and for a regular preacher to minister to them.

Completion of Baptist Church Building

All praise and glory to God for His grace upon True Life BPC and His goodness to the brethren in New Camiling Fundamental Baptist Church! With the additional amount donated by the AF/YAF/YPF and some recent designated love gifts, the windows and doors could be completed.

I believe the Lord will bless Pastor Morales and his congregation even more if they will complete the rest of the building through their own prayers, resources and labour. They are already using the building.

May the Lord continue to bless True Life BPC for her love for the needy brethren especially in the Philippines.
