Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Worship Service!

God is ever gracious and merciful to us for sustaining the Filipino ministries here in Singapore and in the Philippines. There have been a lot of challenges faced and there are still many looming over us as Satan wants the work of God to be hindered and if possible stopped. The enemy uses people from without and within to destroy the Lord’s purposes towards His chosen people. That is why we must “Be sober, be vigilant” because as Peter said, our “adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour…” (1 Peter 5:8). The Devil and his workers are foolishly deceiving themselves that they can fight and win against God. Thy can never win! However, we should be mindful that their attacks may still cause us to be demoralized and paralyzed, thus the Lord’s work is affected.

Therefore, let us all sincerely examine ourselves every day that we might not end up as either instruments of Satan or as his victims. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints…” (Ephesians 6:10–18) —JTGL

Thanksgiving and Testimony of My FEBC Life
(Deccarlo Balongcas Igot)

I thank God so much for helping me throughout my journey in FEBC. Indeed, from the beginning until the end of my studies, all by God’s grace that I had survived in the College because my life in FEBC have lots of ups and downs. Thus, I extended for one year to cope up and finish my master’s program. I thank God and for Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Khoo, the college principal, in particular for his prayers and counsel for me in times when I am down and advise me for new direction. I remember one of his encouragements saying, “If God calls you, He will help you.” So, I live along my FEBC life with it.

I also thank God for using some people as instruments of His grace that with their genuine hearts’ desire to help others and to me in particular, my decision to go for full time study in FEBC had been made possible. I also thank God for my supporting church True Life BPC for supporting my full time study’s scholarship in FEBC and for taking care of some of my family needs. I also thank God for the Filipino Bible Fellowship and Men’s Fellowship for their continued prayers and support and I thank God also for those individuals who prayed for me and supported me along my whole journey in FEBC.

My life in FEBC has been my most unforgettable spiritual life changing experience. Thus, I could say that FEBC is like a spiritual rehabilitation center for me which exposes my carnality in the process and had tremendously helped me strengthen my spirituality as I go along the way to finish the programme of my studies. Truly, when God works Satan also works harder. Sometime in June of 2020 I was lockdown in as it was the government’s protocol as circuit breaker for Covid-19 virus. Yes, I was safe and not infected of Covid-19 virus but my isolation had caused me to be tempted. I indulged with gadgets and social media using singing apps singing lots of worldly songs and even transgressed God’s commandment. Thank God for rebuking me with His Word for as in 1 Pet 1:16 He says, “… Be ye holy for I am holy.” I repented and moved to make a public confession in one of FEBC’s day of prayers in July 2020. Inwardly, we are tempted in our mind and in our hearts which none could deliver us from such temptation only the Word of God that the Holy Spirit will use to fight against our flesh to restrain us from doing unrighteous things and evil deeds. The daily faithful study of the Word of God while in FEBC had help me overcome temptations in life and helped me grow spiritually and be prepared me for my ministry ahead.

In my last three semesters in FEBC, I decided to stay on campus and will just go back home with my family in Calvary Pandan parsonage on weekends. It helped me a lot in terms of focusing on my studies especially in doing my assignments and to be assigned with college duties which are vital for me to do them as part of my training for my future ministry. Duties such as one of them is the cleaning of the men’s toilets three times weekly which I did for two consecutive semesters. Such experiences for me was a privilege as I did it joyfully for the Lord so there was not any day of struggle for me. All daily classes in FEBC are all about God’s Word so, I felt that FEBC is like a church camp weekly only with great tribulation at every end of the semester as we have to take final examinations and submissions of all the assignments. But, it was a great soul enriching experience for me as the test or exams and submission of all assignments will lead me to be more trusting in God that in those times of hardships I can count on him to help me as God declared the truth in His Word that He will not subject us to a test that we are not able (1 Cor 10:13).

Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the lecturers in FEBC for their faithful teaching of God’s to us students and for all staffs for their untiring support to us students. I would like to thank the principal and board of directors for upholding and keeping the absolute truth of God’s Word to be taught in this remnant school of prophets, the FEBC. May the Lord bless and keep FEBC for God’s glory.
