Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Worship Service!

Praise the Lord for His mercy and grace to the Filipino ministry. Please continue to pray for the Lord to bless more of our Kababayans for His glory and honour. Please find below some updates of the Lord’s working among us.—JTGL

UPDATES!

There are many things that have changed in the Filipino ministry of True Life BPC. I would like to update everyone although most of you are aware of what has happened. In all these things, we have to acknowledge the good hand of the Lord who granted us His good favour and allowed the seemingly inconvenient circumstances in our lives to happen. He is worthy of our worship and service! Thus, in all that we will read below, I pray you will be encouraged to continue on praying and inviting others to come to the Filipino Worship Service that sinners will be saved and saints strengthened.

As we are now a Filipino Worship Service, although changed abruptly, our prayers nevertheless were heard, and the Lord made it in His wonderful way. He paved the way for us to become a worship service and the church is now generously taking over the support for our missions work in the Philippines. This is the Lord’s doing, and we pray that our resources will be used in some other places. What a blessing from the Lord that we can move on further and farther!

We have already had a few Lord’s Days in RELC. We know all things work together for good! We have to trust the Lord that this move will make a way for many Filipinos to come and worship with us. This place is just two stops away from Orchard road, which is central to the city and likewise two stops also from the Stevens MRT stations, which give connections for those from Woodlands and Bukit Panjang. We pray that through these our Kababayan’s can locate us easily than before. We may not be in Godhill but definitely this is God’s will for us. Praise the Lord!

We have gone through a tough time few weeks back as the FilBF was subjected with a special audit. There are some people who asks about the disbursements to the missions work we have in the Philippines. Amazingly, the Lord poured upon us a sizable amount of resources. This caught the attention of some. We are thankful to the Lord that the special audit report was “objective and accurately represented facts without any exaggerations of irregularities.” This is another great deliverance from the Lord, and though it was such a demanding task that slowed down some of our works in the missions field, God Himself vindicated and showed that nothing is fraudulent in our funding of the missions work in the Philippines. All glory and praise to Him!

The work in Luzon is moving on by the grace of God! We only have a monthly physical worship service there in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. However, during this Lord’s Day services, not only brethren and friends from Nueva Ecija attend our service but also from Sta Fe, Nueva Vizcaya and Urdaneta, Pangasinan. They travel for hours to come and worship with us. Please pray that this work will be sustained and more workers will come to co-labour with us in this missions work in Luzon. Last month, there were friends who came from Metro Manila. There are around 50 (including young people) attending. This is indeed the Lord’s wonder-working power to gather people that they may hear His precious Word. Please pray for me that my old and weak body will continue to serve the Lord through His enabling. Today, I am ministering in Cabanatuan, and may the Lord bless His people!

During the Resurrection Sunday, we have three brethren who submitted themselves to the water baptism (Kimberly Amihan, Melchora Biñas, and Criselda Cauilan) and one transfer of membership (Ricardo Mejedo). This is God’s blessing for the evangelistic team and to all who are praying. Bro Carlo had informed me that Sister Criselda came to join us after the invitation received during evangelism session. Thank God! I pray this will encourage us to go and invite more!

Next Lord’s Day, April 30, will be the first anniversary of Christlife Bible-Presbyterian Missions Church in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. There is one baptism and three transfers of membership, including Pr Martinez Azores. Although the work is still small, we must understand that it should start like a mustard seed, but when it is sown, it will be a blessing to many. A family (with two children) is attending the worship service every Lord’s Day. May the Lord prosper this work for His name’s sake. Pr Azores is a lay preacher who took the Bible Equipping Seminar and Training (BEST) and is continuing his studies in our online School of Theology.

God-willing, a few weeks from now, there will be some Filipinos who will receive their degrees and certificates from Far Eastern Bible College (FEBC): Bro Deccarlo Igot, Theya and Thessa Lagapa with their respective degrees and Dr Einstine Opiso and John Inductivo (in absencia) with their certificates after a number of years of online studies. Please continue to pray to the Lord of the Harvest that He will send forth His labourers to be trained in FEBC and be used mightily to reach out for the unsaved.

Before I close this update, I would like to remind those who are members of True Life BPC to attend the Annual Congregational Meeting on 30th April at 10:15 am. Please join the English service which will start at 8:30 am. Those who are not members can still join the early morning service in the Auditorium. There will be no Filipino Worship Service on that day (30 April 2023). Please pray for the Lord to preserve the church.

Newly baptized sisters (L-R, Mechora Biñas, Kimberly Amihan, Criselda Cauilan) and Bro Ricardo Mejedo, who transferred his membership to True Life BPC.
