On Sundays at 3pm. Please contact Bro Jose Lagapa: 81853623 anytime.

Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

We rejoice with our brethren in Christ Bible-Presbyterian Church in Cebu for their first church camp. Members of Trinidad BPC from the nearby island of Bohol joined the camp. The Lord is good because even if the said camp was supposed to be last December but through Typhoon Odette, the Lord provided them a perfect time and place to continue with it. Praise the Lord for His provisions from True Life BPC which helped them in realizing the planned camp. Preacher Jose Mangco was the Camp Speaker with Pr Rodolfo Gayon of Trinidad BPC and Bro Johnny Rey Ebin of True Word Bible Fellowship as morning devotion speakers. Praise God for Bro Jude Gabales, the Church Camp Master, for God’s wisdom and strength upon him in arranging and managing all the necessary things for the camp.

1st Church Camp – Christ Bible-Presbyterian Church
(A report by Pr Jose Mangco)

Pr Jose Mangco, Camp Speaker

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Colossians 3:1–17)

Praise and thank the Lord our God for granting us a blessed Church Camp that was held last April 11–13, 2022. It was the Christ Bible-Presbyterian Church’s (CBPC) first ever Church Camp. All of us were excited, especially that most of the attendees were first timers. I thank the Lord for True Life BP Church-Filipino Bible Fellowship for their prayers and financial support which played a big part in making Christ BPC’s camp possible. I also thank the Lord for brother Jude Gabales, our Camp Master, who laboured much in all the necessary preparations.

The camp was held at Casa Rugina Resort in Cordova Cebu, a nearby town from the church location, Pusok, Lapulapu City. We thank God that a total of 41 attendees joined the camp (including children and 1 infant). Thank God also for the 6 brethren from Trinidad BP Church, Bohol who joined our camp led by Preacher Rodolfo Gayon.

The theme was “Concentrate on Spiritual Things” taken from Colossians 3:1–17. It was a meditative study on this passage with a series of 4 messages being delivered. Our morning devotion speakers were Pr Rodolfo Gayon and Bro. Johnny Rey Ebin. Missions reports were presented by Pr Gayon of Trinidad BPC and Bro Jude Gabales of True Word Bible Fellowship on Monday evening.

The preaching of God’s word encouraged spiritual growth, allowing us to focus on our relationship with God and fellow Christians. Praise God for the brethren who attended and were attentive to hear the Word. Please pray for them that they will be able to apply the lessons they have heard into their lives.

Every activity of the camp had significance and value in helping us to know more of our identity in Christ. As Christians, we have died and risen with Christ. Therefore, we must live the newness of life. We must live a sanctified and holy life.

Meals were being served, breakfast, lunch and dinner and activities like group memory verses, message relay and skit presentation taught us honesty, camaraderie and unity. Bible stories, arts and crafts taught life lessons for the kids found in the scriptures. Thank God for Sister Marites Mangco and Bro. Johnny Rey Ebin who willingly and patiently taught the children. On Wednesday morning, our camp was concluded with thanksgiving and testimonies. Many had come in front to give thanks and testify of the goodness of the Lord throughout the camp. It was indeed a foretaste of what heaven is like, glorifying and enjoying God’s goodness through worship and fellowship.

All in all, the church camp has physically and spiritually refreshed many of us, especially that we can set aside our worries, cares of this world and work, and just focus on learning God’s Word. Indeed, all of us are greatly blessed and benefitted from the sharing of God’s Word. All Glory be to God!
