Dear Brethren and Friends,
Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!
We praise and thank the Lord for the seven (7) Filipinos (Natalia’s Mom is Ate Wella) who will receive their certificates and degrees from the Far Eastern Bible College (FEBC). Below are their thanksgiving testimonies (Jose Trinipil II “Biboy” Lagapa chose not to write as he will be continuing his studies in FEBC). Let us continue to pray for more Filipinos to be trained in FEBC. Jesus said, “… The harvest truly is plenteous, but thelabourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forthlabourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37–38).
Gyzza Berindez Dandoy (BTh)
Greetings in the blessed Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! I want to praise and thank the Lord for calling me unto salvation and also to serve Him full time. I thank the Lord for leading me to study His perfectly inspired and preserved Word of Truth here in FEBC, Singapore. Throughout my four and a half years of studying God's Word in FEBC, I thank the Lord for how I have experienced His abundant grace, mercies, faithfulness, and goodness in my student life. Indeed, it is all by God’s given faith, strength, wisdom, and perseverance that I could endure all the thorough and challenging training in FEBC. I know I am undeserving and unworthy to receive such help and favour from Him, yet He has given them.
I want to thank the Lord for the faithful teaching and training of the Far Eastern Bible College. I thank God for the principal, the board of directors, the lecturers and tutors, the matron, the assistant matron, and all the staff in FEBC for their godly examples and faithful services to the Lord. Also, I would like to thank the Lord for all these years of study wherein I suffered no lack. I praise the Lord for using the True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church to support my studies. Similarly, I would like to praise the Lord for the Filipino Bible Fellowship, which the Lord used to encourage me to serve the Lord faithfully, whether in the least or in the much and for all the sweet fellowship that I have had with all my fellow Filipino and Singaporean brethren.
Furthermore, I praise and thank the Lord for the training I have received in the college, especially for His Word of Truth which rebuked, corrected, instructed, and moulded me as an unprofitable servant of God. As I look forward to this commencement exercise, may it remind me to be humble and more prayerful as I face the actual harvest field of the ministry. May the Lord help and sustain me by His grace and mercy to remain committed in the study of His Holy Word and remain faithful in the service of the Lord as His useful vessel till the very end. I want to end my testimony by sharing a verse which has encouraged me throughout my studies. Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” To God be the glory!
Roel De Guzman Requirme (MDiv)
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our all-powerful and sovereign God, who is in control of everything and has providentially called people to salvation and ministry. I also thank God for the opportunity to study full-time at Far Eastern Bible College. Thank God for seeing me through my three years of studies. In addition, I also thank God for providing committed tutors and lecturers. Hence, to say "thank you" would be an understatement for all the spiritual lessons I have obtained at FEBC.
Indeed, studying at the Bible College is God's work. There is nothing to brag about. God is the One who sustains each student as they prepare for ministry through FEBC, equipping them with God's Word. Words may not be sufficient to express my gratitude to the Lord and to everyone who has been part of my studies in Singapore. May the Lord bless us as we work together to carry out His will as revealed in His Holy Word. God is to be praised!
Natalia Fernandez Heng (CertBS)
Thank God for the opportunity to study His Word at FEBC during the past few years. It is rare to find a fundamental Bible college where God’s Word is faithfully and systematically taught today, and it is truly by God’s providence that FEBC still stands firm today.
Thank God for the friends who encouraged me to take FEBC classes while I was waiting to enter the university, and since then, I have decided to take at least one course each semester. I always looked forward to studying God’s Word with His people, especially before the pandemic. Everyone would be gathered in the sanctuary after a long day at work or studying to learn from God’s Word. Through the classes, I have gained a deeper understanding of the books of the Bible and its doctrines. But the challenge is to be a doer of God’s Word and not just a hearer, so it is my prayer that all of us who are graduating will live out God’s Word in our lives.
Thessa Ba-a Lagapa (BRE)
“…be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Rom 12:2). In FEBC, success runs deeper than graduating well. It is not just the lengthening of one’s knowledge but truly the changing of one’s mind, heart, and behaviour to Christlikeness through God’s Word. It was the semester of July 2018 that I entered in, and the principal’s message was titled “Three Rules to Succeed.” These three rules guided me throughout past years of studying God's Word: (1) For the glory of God alone, (2) Humility, humility, humility, and (3) Self-help with God's help is the best help. I admit I have not been perfect and failed many times, yet God remained faithful and good.
I thank the Lord for His mercy and grace to save me and call me into the full time ministry. I thank God for all my lecturers who taught me in the hall and through their lives what it means to be God’s servant and also, for the staff who worked behind the scenes. I thank True Life BPC for supporting me financially and for their precious prayers. I thank God for my family, who always encouraged me to press on. Lastly, I thank those who have studied alongside me throughout the semesters for how they have helped me grow in one way or another. As these three rules have guided me in my four-year journey in FEBC, I pray that I will still remember them as I serve the Lord wherever He leads me. To God be all the glory.
Celina Frianela Lee (CertRK)
As a Christian, I desire to know more about my God, the Source of all wisdom and knowledge. I thank the Lord for the privilege of studying in FEBC, where the Truth is faithfully taught.
I am very much blessed and truly thankful for the many lessons learnt in FEBC which helps me in my life's journey as a child of God. I now understand that studying God’s Word is a sure way to help me grow in the grace and in the knowledge of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May God bless and sustain FEBC to teach His Word faithfully for the expansion of His kingdom for the glory of His name.
Jenerose Brava Sagayoc (BRE)
I thank and praise the LORD God Almighty for seeing me through five years of my studies. I have many failures along the way that sometimes make me feel discouraged and insecure about myself for not giving my best as God gives His very best for me, for saving me and calling me in the ministry. However, God is so good that despite my weaknesses, He remains faithful and so patient with me and guides me lovingly, and encourages me through His Word. God is truly worthy of worship and praise.
For five years, God showed that He is a loving God who takes good care of His children. He showed me that there is no impossible with Him (Luke 1:37). He always provided me with more than I needed and granted me all the desires of my heart that I did not expect to receive, first, for equipping and training me in the future ministry. God knows what I need and moulds me here at FEBC and this fellowship with you all. Secondly, there is a need for music ministry in our country, and many churches there need someone who can accompany us in worship service. God gives me the privilege to study and learn the proper, fundamental way of playing the piano that can glorify His name. I know I still need more years to develop the gift, but I thank the Lord for giving me a good foundation and wonderful and memorable memories in my training, and above all, God delivered me from the influence of the world and helped me revive spiritually. All the honour and glory belong only to the Lord. Psalm 37:4–5 says, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thineheart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
