Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

Filipinos spending their day-off on Sundays along Orchard Road.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest” (John 4:35). The many Filipinos idling along Orchard road on Sundays are indeed like a “field…white already to harvest.” We are thankful to the Lord for the burden laid upon the hearts of many of our members to go and take part as labourers for His harvest. John Calvin commenting on this verse, wrote, “He follows out the preceding statement; for, having said that nothing was dearer to him than to finish the work of the Father, he now shows how ripe it is for execution; and he does so by a comparison with the harvest. When the corn is ripe, the harvest cannot bear delay, for otherwise the grain would fall to the ground and be lost; and, in like manner, the spiritual corn being now ripe, he declares that there must be no delay, because delay is injurious. We see for what purpose the comparison is employed; it is to explain the reason why he hastens to perform his work.” May the Lord continue to move our hearts to go forth and preach the gospel “for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16). Brother Deccarlo Igot provides us a report of the two evangelistic sessions conducted. Let us pray that God’s special protection from infections and dangers be upon all of us and especially for those who join our evangelistic band. – Bro Jose

True Life BPC-Filipino Bible Fellowship Evangelism
by Bro Deccarlo Igot, In-charge, FilBF Evangelistic Band

It has been more than two years since the outbreak of COVID-19 virus that the True Life BPC-Filipino Bible Fellowship members were not able to reach out to our fellow Filipinos here in Singapore. The spreading of the good news had been hindered because of the spread of the virus. The word of God in Romans 10:13–14 says, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Indeed, the question is, how can our fellow Filipinos be saved if they have not heard the gospel of salvation and how can they hear if no one will preach the good news to them?

However, we thank the Lord that by His grace, we were able to resume the FilBF evangelism this year. We thank our Pastor, The Rev Dr Jeffrey Khoo, for giving FilBF the permission to conduct evangelism. Last January 9, 2022, we started to evangelize in front of ION Orchard. Thank God for the members who were longing to serve the Lord in preaching the gospel among the Filipinos, we were so blessed to form the following evangelistic teams on that day:

1st team, Ernalyn Nacor, and Grecil Alayon

2nd team, Maria Mae Durango and Vergie Osigan,

3rd team, Jenerose Sagayoc, Melgie Milliones and Joanna Ampo,

4th team, Gyzza Dandoy, Gina Ortis and Erma Lapasaran

5th team, Theya Lagapa and Gregonia Garcia

6th team, Deccarlo Igot, Florante Cabanas and Andrew Adolacion

Members of the evangelistic teams assembled in Godhill at around 1:20 pm for a short briefing on how to do the evangelism and the necessary safety protocol that we ought to follow with respect to the COVID-19 restrictions, rules and safety regulations. We reminded and reemphasized the five persons per cluster rule as well as the one-meter safe distancing rule. This means if we have more than three contacts, say four of them, one of the two in the team should keep apart at one-meter to observe the safe distancing measures, and to keep the five person maximum in a discussion. At 1:30 pm we proceed to the place where we planned to evangelize. Our activity lasted about one hour and a half, thus we ended our evangelism at around 3 in the afternoon.

We scheduled the FilBF evangelism every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. We had already conducted the evangelism twice this month. The latest one was on January 23, 2022 and the Lord moved the hearts of the members in serving Him and the teams formed this time were as follows:

1st team, Ernalyn Nacor, and Gregonia Garcia

2nd team, Maria Mae Durango and Vergie Osigan,

3rd team, Jenerose Sagayoc, Melgie Milliones and Joanna Ampo,

4th team, Gyzza Dandoy and Gina Ortis

5th team, Jose Lagapa and Andrew Adolacion.

6th team, Deccarlo Igot and Florante Cabanas.

We thank the Lord for how He blessed our work for Him. Most of he people we met and shared the Gospel with were so receptive of the Gospel and as we shared to them, many prayed the sinner’s prayer, receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We gave out about two hundred fifty tracts while we shared the gospel. We also gave about a hundred copies of the Tagalog RPG.

We trust and believe that our labor for the Lord will not be in vain, praying that in His perfect time some of the recipients will come to join us in the Filipino Bible Fellowship worship service to hear more of the Word of God and worship the Lord in spirit and truth. We pray that many will come to fully know the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and they will find salvation through this evangelistic work that the Lord caused us to do.

We acknowledge that this is the Lord’s work and that the spreading of the Gospel is to fulfill the Great Commission as the Lord commanded in Matthew 28:18–20 “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Indeed, as the Lord promised He will be with us. The presence of the Lord manifests in the hearts of the FilBF evangelism team members with their joy and zeal in doing this work to proclaim the gospel of salvation.

May we all continue to pray for the True Life BPC-FilBF evangelism and may God bless us all!
