Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

We thank the Lord for the Filipino students who graduated last May 9, 2021 from the Far Eastern Bible College. We thank the members of the FilBF who are continually praying for them. Please remember them in your prayers that they will serve the Lord and give their best for His glory and honour!

Thanksgiving Testimony – Stephen Magbanua Gillegao, BTh

Psalm 139:1–5, To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

It is always good to give thanks unto the Lord for His wisdom, that by His great providence He allows everything to happen according to His divine purpose. Truly, I would like to give thanks unto the Lord for His salvation so rich and free. I thank the Lord also for His divine working in my life in which He had given me a great privilege to study His word.

I thank the Lord for seeing me through four years study of the Bible. The Lord indeed taught me how to be humble despite many trials in life. I confess that I am a proud man, but the Lord chastised me so that I may learn to depend on Him at all times.

I thank the Lord for preserving the FEBC to cater more students to come and learn the fundamental teachings. I thank the Lord also for the faithful lecturers who offered their lives to God in order to teach us and impart their knowledge unto us. But on top of that, you were a good example unto also.

I thank the Lord for the blessings and also the scolding. It is the Lord who use the people to help and at the same time to correct me. Thank God for the people who aided me in my needs, may the Lord bless you more. Remembering Mrs Tow also for her scolding and corrections. Truly I do not like to be scolded, but because I did mistakes I adhered to such corrections, although she is not only the person who corrected me, but thank God for them. They were used by God to help me order my ways according to His.

Thanking God for the Calvary Tengah BP Church, for their warm welcome, financial support, spiritual nourishment, and prayer. They are dear to me, as one of my family. I thank the Lord also for my friends and classmates, for the encouragement, help, and also in prayer. Thanking God also for my family who helps me pray and supports me in my study.

Ultimately, I thank God for a helpmeet whom He provided for me, to co-labour soon in the ministry. Please continue to pray for me, that I will be faithful and be used by God in the ministry. To God be the Glory.

Thanksgiving Testimony – Theya Ba-a Lagapa, BTh

I want to give back all the praise and glory to our Heavenly Father Who saw me through the past 4 years of study in FEBC. Back in 2017, I thought 2021 would never come but here we are now, half-way through this year.

The past 4 years in FEBC, as seniors say, are the best years so far in life and I agree too, but not because I was successful and victorious in my studies. Instead, the past 4 years have taught me that I do not deserve to be called to serve Him. I am not capable. I am unworthy. But though undeserving I am, God’s grace and mercy are greater and He showed it to me by how He used the lecturers to rebuke and encourage me through the lectures they gave or during chapels.

I will never forget how in my second semester; I struggled with bad influences. With gardening as my duty, I had to spend much time with Mrs Tow. One afternoon, as I followed her to pick up the stems she trimmed off from some plants, she suddenly said, “That’s right, sometimes we have to cut off people from our lives.” I knew at that moment that God was speaking to me through her.

I also thank God for my family who prayed for me and always asked me whether I am done with my assignments. I am grateful for my fellow classmates who encouraged me. I am also very thankful for the support of True Life BPC, who supported me spiritually and lovingly. May the Lord bless this church to further God’s kingdom. Please pray with me for God’s leading for the following years.

Thanksgiving Testimony – Crisa Jane Guanzon Zagado, BRE

Psalm 73:28, “But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.”

I remember 4 years ago, by the grace of God, I received His call of service to be trained. God providentially guided me to this School of prophets which I never thought would be made possible. But here I am, embarking towards the end of my semester all by the grace of God. I cannot explain the feeling I have now. 4 years ago, I was giving my testimony on the day of prayer (17th of July 2017) and now declaring to all of you how God is the King of all the earth for His presence is indeed real to me. He is a good Shepherd who provided all my needs so that His will for my life will step by step be fulfilled. Definitely it is the Lord who directed my steps. So I am thankful to God for how He showed His loving care towards me through these following people.

I thank God for the Principal, Dr Jeffrey Khoo and the board of directors who answered the call of God to accept me to study in this school. I am a stranger to them but I thank God through the Lord Jesus that they counted me as family. I thank God for the hard work of the administrative personnel who processed my papers for my coming in and going out.

I thank the Lord for the church who supported me all throughout these years, the True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church. Through their love and generosity, I never experienced any lack. I thank God for the sweet communion in the Filipino Bible Fellowship and witnessed the amazing grace of the Lord to all the Filipinos here. I am really grateful for brethren even from other BP Churches for their constant prayers and encouragements in the Lord not just for me, but for all the FEBC Students.

I praise the Lord for all the FEBC lecturers for their faithful preaching and teaching of God’s inspired and preserved Word. I thank God that through His grace and mercy, they were able to teach us with boldness and conviction semester after semester. I praise God that I am not just learning through their words but also by their lives as I observe them from afar. I thank God for granting them wisdom on how the courses were well-prepared and offered because every lesson is very timely for every certain semester. It helped my walk with the Lord, to see that we need His daily grace and mercy to overcome sins.

Not forgetting the food, I thank God for the variety of spicy (but not all the time) and delicious food which I am addicted to already. It is all because of their love for God and His people. I thank God for our matron Mrs Tow who loves the ministry of feeding God’s people and her concern for our health, likewise for her discipline in the Lord, sometimes painful but I believe it was done out of love. Along with her, I thank God for Sister Eileen, May Lynn and Ate Wella in cooking for us and guiding us in our duties. Also, for Mrs Khoo, who had been so hands-on in watching over us especially from the start of the pandemic. I thank God for her zeal and love towards God’s children that though she was unwell, she never let it hinder from serving God whenever she could.

Last but not the least, I thank God for my family for their love and support in prayers. Thank God for using them as an instrument to guide me in the straight and narrow way. Also, for my home-church for their unfailing prayers and care as well. How can I forget, my FEBC friends! The Lord knows how I treasure all of you. The Lord really taught me in many areas of my life by knowing your journey with the Lord. We all have ups and downs. I believe there were times that I showed displeasing testimonies. But I thank the Lord we are still able to forgive, love, laugh, cry, and praise the Lord in prayers, in psalms and even doing the duties together and eating together as unto the Lord. I will miss all those precious moments.

I may not be able to mention everyone and thank you all personally. But I truly praise the Lord. It is the Lord who will bless you accordingly. Now, I ask that you will continue to pray for us, especially for those who will be going back, Lord willing. Pray that we will be faithful to the Lord by upholding the truth, not to compromise neither apostatize but to earnestly contend for the faith.

To God be all the glory and honour!
