FILIPINO BIBLE FELLOWSHIP

On Sundays at 3pm. Please contact Bro Jose Lagapa: 81853623 anytime.

Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

We are thankful to the Lord for another Christian Sabbath that we can experience rest in Him. This foreshadows the eternal rest ahead of us and we should treasure this day and fill our hearts with gratitude for the wonderful promise He has for us through and in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are thankful also that the COVID-19 cases nearby in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) have been contained immediately. Although we are a step back to past restrictions last year, we must praise God for the wisdom He gives to the leaders of Singapore that enables to keep the infection level to the minimum these past few days. Let us however, take not our guard down. Let us keep ourselves clean following the measures such as wearing masks, washing our hands and keeping ourselves from crowded places. This will also protect others, our employers and especially our brethren so that we can continue to worship in Godhill safe and secured from COVID-19.

An advisory has been sent to your WhatsApp or Messenger and let me quote it again for us to remember. This is exercising our human responsibility in order to keep us away from the crowded places in Novena which is very near to TTSH:

Dear Brethren and Friends, We would like to highly recommend for you to take bus when you come to Godhill for the FilBF this coming Sunday and onwards. Please avoid taking MRT up to Novena. You have to alight at Newton MRT Station and take bus from Exit A to Opposite Hotel Royal (Please see map). You can walk to Goldhill Plaza following the blue line as indicated in the map.

Sunday Basic Bible Classes

Rationale

In Singapore, there are many non-governmental organizations which offer various Sunday courses for foreign domestic workers. These ranges from caregiving and cooking to dressmaking and basic accounting. Basically, the purpose is to prepare them to have their own source of livelihood when they return home. This serves also to provide them a fruitful day-off rather than wandering around and doing nothing. Many of the Filipino domestic workers are enrolled in this Sunday classes.

The FilBF is generally composed of Filipino domestic workers. Sooner or later they will return back to the Philippines. Aside from bringing them to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they must be equipped with the knowledge of the Bible. Furthermore, they can be used mightily of the LORD when they go back to their respective hometowns. Rather than taking courses like dancing or tailoring, which some of them are engaged with, the best courses they can take which can profit them most, is to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be able to teach children and women folks the Word of God.

The FilBF proposes to hold Bible classes in Tagalog or Cebuano for interested FilBF members and other Filipino Domestic Workers every Sunday afternoon (1:00–3:00 pm) at Godhill. The courses are to be offered free-of-charge. These classes will cover basic theology and methods of teaching children, teens and other women. The program will lead them to earn a certificate (eg. Certificate in Basic Bible Knowledge) once they complete a year of modular courses every Sunday. The courses will be taught by me, graduates (Jenerose Sagayoc) and soon to graduate (Crisa Zagado and Theya Lagapa) students from FEBC in mixed medium of instructions such as English with Tagalog or Cebuano.
