Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

To God be the glory for the privilege He gives to the FilBF as one of His witnesses to the Filipinos here in Singapore. The Lord moved the leadership of True Life BPC through our Pastor, the Rev Dr Jeffrey Khoo, to begin a work among the Filipino migrant workers. We are now on our 3rd year as FilBF, although we started off as the Filipino Bible Study.

There are over 150,000 Filipinos working in Singapore. Most of them still do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. It is our prayer in FilBF that many more will come to the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Thank God for space for more to come here at Godhill.

The Lord has blessed us with not a few souls. Many of them have returned back to Philippines for good. It is our prayer to God that they be used to spread the good news to their own families, friends and neighbors. May they be faithful to pursue the things of Christ as they have learned in the FilBF. “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:1–2).

Below is a testimony of one of our sisters here in FilBF. Ernalyn has been used by God as a blessing to the FilBF. She was very active in the Evangelistic band every Sunday. She was in-charged in providing lunch for the brethren who join the FilBF E-band. The work of our sisters in the FilBF is indeed worthy of commendation as they have done much for the furtherance of the gospel. So thus, Paul, exhorted the brethren in Philippi, “and I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel…” (Philippians 4:3a). – Bro Jose

Testimony of Ernalyn Nacor

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

The LORD God saved me at the age of 8. God used my sister to bring me to church every Lord’s Day to hear God’s Word back then. At a very young age, I was so privileged knowing God and His Word. By God’s grace and guidance, memorizing Bible verses was my habit when I was growing up. I thank God for leading me as I went through life’s journey. Memorizing His Word helped me a lot to abide in Him. The Lord’s Word encouraged me to face the challenges each day. Especially when my parents passed away and my siblings had their own families. I am the youngest among six siblings, and looking at all of them with their own family, I felt I was left behind and all alone, but the Lord never left me, He comforted me and gave me strength to go on. As His word in Hebrews 13:5 says, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.”

The LORD God and His Word has been my guide each day. In Psalm 119:105, “They word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” And to be honest I do not deserve such care and love from God, because often times, I disobey Him. He is so loving and so merciful. He takes good care of me and provide all my needs. Every day the Lord pours on me His love and comfort. He always gave me a way out to escape temptations.

In December 30, 2010, the Lord brought me here in Singapore. I had no idea what would be my life here, but despite my fears I trusted the Lord and faced the challenges. My first 2 years here were not easy, my boss was strict to me. For that 2 years I did not have a day off, but those tough years of experience brought me closer and closer to God. As I kneeled and prayed that He would change my employer’s heart to let me go out so I can attend to church services, I was drawn nearer to Him.

The Lord once again answered my prayers. After 2 years I have my off days. In December 2012, I went to a charismatic church and there I attended for almost 2 years before the Lord took me out of it. The church did not satisfy the longings of my soul and I did not grow spiritually. Praise the Lord for giving me discernment to see that it was not the right church. I prayed again that He would lead me to a place that will quench my soul’s thirst for God. In March 2014, the Lord led me to Calvary Pandan BPC-Sunset Gospel Hour (SGH) through Aprilaiza whom I knew back in the Philippines. There I met the Lagapa family. I believed meeting them was an answer to my prayers, praise the Lord! After almost a year in Calvary Pandan SGH, I moved to True Life BPC for morning worship service, and to the Filipino Bible Fellowship (FilBF) for afternoon service. Indeed the Lord has been so faithful in my life. He led me to the place where I should be. The church met my soul’s hunger and edifies me to grow spiritually. The messages are truly from the Bible. Praise God!

Just recently, on February 26, 2019, my boss told me that he lost his job and asked me to go home. That news surprised me, as my contract has not ended yet, but looking back at my life’s experience, how the Lord kept me, led me, and preserved me. It gave me an assurance that I should not be afraid as His Words in Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Yes, all things work together for good to them that love God…I know it is the Lord’s will.

I do not know what will happen along the way, but I trust the Lord always. He holds my future and my life. To God be all the glory!

I will praise thee O LORD my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name forevermore” (Psalm 86:12).

Thank God for the FilBF family!
