FILIPINO BIBLE FELLOWSHIP

On Sundays at 3pm. Please contact Bro Jose Lagapa: 81853623 anytime.

Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

The Lord’s ministry for us in the FilBF involves those who come here for few months or years, until, they go back to the Philippines. Well, someday it will be our turn too, but while the Lord, by His providence, allows us to remain here, we should fulfill diligently His purpose of bringing us into this foreign land.

Praise the Lord for Elmie. She stayed in Singapore for more than 2 years and she spent it well for the Lord’s work too! She was already a Christian in the Philippines and coming here to work did not prevent her to serve the Lord. She was active in the fellowship and laboured much in the work of evangelism. One important fruit I see is our sister Pearl’s salvation. I believe the Lord used her as His instrument for Pearl to believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized last year.

As we give our tithes and offerings to the Lord through the FilBF, let us thank Him for using our small fellowship to initiate the construction of a building for New Camiling Baptist Church. May the Lord continue to bless this fellowship to support the many financial needs of our churches in the Philippines. – Bro Jose

Testimony of Elmie Betacura

The world is enticing us to a lot of things that sometimes, it leads us to pursue them and we miss Gods calling. The Word of God says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15). It shows that we should not set our heart into the things of this world.

When I was young I kept on praying to God to become a missionary when I grow up, in fact I really appreciate our Bible woman in our church how she taught us in Sunday school and even conducting the choir to present every Sunday in Church. When I reached secondary school, the society introduced me to strive hard in studying to have a better job; desiring to give a better future for my family someday. Until then, I took Bachelor of Early Childhood Education in a secular school knowing that if I finish my course, I can have my job and I can help my family especially my siblings who are still studying. While in the middle of my 5 year course, I felt like I wanted to study in a Bible school after my graduation. I even mentioned it to God during my prayer time.

Fast forward before my graduation, there was an opportunity to work abroad and it really grabbed my attention. I was so excited that moment knowing that the said job was in line with my career. I told my parents about the offer and they allowed me to process my papers for deployment. During the processing of my papers I experienced a lot of barriers but I did not stop myself due to the fact that I really wanted to work abroad. At last! After almost a year of waiting, my dream turned into reality. I was being hired as a preschool teacher.

I thank God for leading me to the Filipino Bible Fellowship. It helped me grow more in Christ. I thank God for the privilege that we can share also His gospel every Sunday. Through this, it made me realize that we as Christians should have the passion to win the lost souls for His glory. There it opened my mind and heart to the importance of sharing God's word and remembered the Word of God from Matthew 9:37, “Then saith he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” Back then in the field of work, I thought that everything would run smoothly, but I was wrong. There were times that I questioned God "Is this really your will for me Lord?” “Why does it seem like everything is falling apart?” “Why do I experience so much problems and trials?” Those questions kept running through my mind when I failed the IELTS exam for four times and it really made me weak. I was so down and stressed those times, I felt like my best was not good enough, even when I gave my best just to pass but it still did not work.

Well, I thank God for all the realization. It made me pay attention to his calling for me. Sometimes God allows us to experience pains in life so that we will realize that only God can help us and He wants us to focus on Him, He wants us to walk in the way which is right and according to His plan. We may experience great failures now, but just trust His plan because He knows what is best for us. I thank God for His grace and mercy in my life. Even though I disobeyed Him, His mercy still remains. I thank God for His favor in my life, to serve Him full time and to offer my strength to Him for His glory. “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). It is a privilege to be equipped with His Words and to know more about Him. May we continue to serve the Lord as we wait upon Him.

True Life Bible-Presbyterian Church – Singapore

Dear Dr Khoo,

Greetings in the name of our living God!

The Lord has been so good in our lives. He is very gracious to provide all our needs, fill us with His blessings and is faithful to answer our supplications. In behalf of the New Camiling Fundamental Baptist Church, I praise and thank God for using you and other brethren in Christ to supply our needs in prayer and in financial support.

At this moment, we are very blessed by using the Church building every Sunday Service, Youth Hour during Saturdays, Prayer Meeting on Wednesdays and other fellowships during weekdays. As of now we are furnishing the building and are almost finishing God’s tabernacle. I thank God for using you as believers in Christ to help us in building the church.

Brethren, we are continuously asking for your fervent prayer that God would continue to use us and help everyone here to be channels of blessings, to be effective in His ministry and to be compassionate enough to win more souls.

We are earnestly praying that God will bless you more and abundantly.

“And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22

Sincerely yours,
