Dear Brethren and Friends,
Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!
All glory to God for the wonderful illustration He has shown to us last Lord’s Day that indeed He is the Lord of the Gentiles (Nations)! We had guests from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. Although we are Filipino Bible Fellowship (FilBF) we do welcome into the fellowship all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and all those who hunger for His precious Word.
God is a Rewarder!
Our God is the great paymaster not only for those who labour for Him but also for those who give support to our needy brethren in the Philippines. Of course, we do not seek for rewards because we are just returning to Him what He has given us. Yet, He is so kind and generous to us. He even provide a new place for the FilBF Lord’s Day meetings in the near future. “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6).
Last Monday, I received an email from Pastor with the subject, “Please see me.” This happens very rarely and it caused me to reflect whether we had any activities in the FilBF contradicting the Scriptures or my preaching deviating from the Biblical doctrines! Tuesday morning after the morning chapel time, I went to Pastor’s office “with fear and trembling”! I praise the Lord for the intent was for Pastor to inform the FilBF that if we require a larger space for our meeting, we can avail the Goldhill Plaza property of True Life BPC as soon as the renovation is completed. That is too generous a favour from the Lord for us through Pastor! Who am I to say no? The place might be too big for us to occupy but I believe the Lord wants us to work even harder in our evangelism for we need not to fill up few chairs but more than 50 chairs! Praise the Lord!
In Goldhill Plaza, the Lord opens for us many and new opportunities to evangelize. First, it is near to the Novena Roman Catholic church where many Filipinos congregate every Sunday. Second, it is near to Tan Tock Seng and other hospitals where many Filipino nurses are working. Not forgetting the third (and this is not paid advertisement!), Jollibee is in Novena square where undeniably many of our “kababayans” like to heal their being homesick by doses of “chickenjoy” and coke! I pray we will take up these new opportunities that God has given us for His glory and for the salvation of many souls.
Goldhill Plaza is just a walking distance from Novena MRT station (North South Line). There is an underground pathway from the MRT station to cross towards exit B1 and a covered pathway to the building. I pray we will see the very good hand of God providing us this new place, truly a “gold hill” for us! “Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!” (Psalm 31:19).
Below is the design of the church building that we are helping to construct. The New Camiling Fundamental Baptist Church is under Pastor Rene Morales. As you can remember few months ago, we featured him in our weekly bulletin. If you forgot who he is and God’s amazing grace to him please visit (http://www.truelifebpc.org.sg/fellowship_groups/filipino_bible_fellowship/weekly/2017-12-10.ii-19). The amount of 5000 SGD has been sent to Philippines. Let us pray that the construction can commence the soonest!
With the prevailing cost of materials for construction in the Philippines, we have to commit to the Lord that at least we can help them lay the foundation, flooring and roofing. We cannot afford to shoulder everything to finish their church building as planned, but at least we can help them start to build a bigger space for their use as their congregation is growing. The Lord is so good to them to provide enough soil to fill that muddy area which was used to be a rice paddy. Let us continue to pray for the safety and protection of the construction workers, especially Dn Jonas Ba-a, who is supervising the construction. May the Lord provide for them good weather so they can finish the work earlier.
May we offer this project unto the Lord with hearts like David who prayed, “O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own. I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee” (1 Chronicles 29:16–17).– Bro Jose
