Dear Brethren and Friends,

Welcome to the Filipino Bible Fellowship!

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18–20). This is the Great Commission that Jesus Christ gives to every believer. We thank the Lord that though we are tied by the kind of occupations we have, we can still fulfil His commission in ways He opens to us. Do you want to know in what way?

…ye shall be witnesses unto me… in Samaria…

God blessed the Ambassadors for Christ (AFC), a group of pastors who are under the Bible Equipping Seminar and Training of TLBPC, with an opportunity to reach out to their own “Samaria.” These pastors are from the province of Bukidnon and last April 23–25, 2018, they went to help evangelise at Gingoog City which is part of the neighbouring northern province of Misamis Oriental (please see map). Praise the Lord for their zeal to labour to win souls for the Lord Jesus Christ! It is now one year since the inception of this evangelistic team and the Lord opened a door for them to reach the next province in fulfilment of the Scriptures, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). In the past few months their evangelism covered many villages in the province of Bukidnon, their “Judea.” This open door in Misamis Oriental is made possible because of God’s favour upon Gingoog Fundamental Baptist Church. The pastor of this church, Romeo Laraño, received his Certificate of Religious Knowledge (CertRK) through FEBC online studies. Currently, he is taking the online Masters of Ministry program of FEBC. The church has two missions churches (Bal-ason and Lunao) and the assigned pastor, Rodrey Suguipit, is a student of BEST who requested their help to bring the gospel to every home in those villages as few church members are able to join the evangelism activities.

I believe this is my third and final appeal to all members of the FilBF and I pray we will not miss the great privilege that God has given us to be part of soul winning in the Philippines although we are here in Singapore. Not everyone can go the field to evangelize but we can fulfil the commission by giving a portion of our collections in the FilBF. Should TLBPC session agree with this proposal to give 100 SGD per month to support this evangelistic effort, starting May to December 2018 (8 months) we will send 800 SGD through Dr Einstine Opiso who is a faithful brother working as a professor in Central Mindanao University, Musuan, Bukidnon. He will be responsible in disbursing the amount every month to the assigned Treasurer of AFC, Pastor Edwin Basco. The withdrawal of funds from Dr Opiso must be countersigned by either the President or Vice President, Pastor George Asotigue and Pastor Artemio Sible, respectively. Financial statement must be submitted to Dr Opiso by the secretary Pastor Ronel Libertad duly approved by the President or Vice President. We look forward to a smooth disbursement of funds in order to ensure our pastors blameless and kept from false accusations.

Why should we support them? Can they not go for evangelism by themselves? We have to understand that not only do we receive blessings in the harvest of souls, they in their part are also commanded to go with provisions from the Lord. In Luke 9:1–3, the Lord Jesus “called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.” Moreover in Luke 10:1–4, “the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.” Since the Lord sends them and being part of the body of the Lord Jesus Christ, we must provide as God’s hands extending to them their needs. We can only thank the Lord for the chance to be involved for “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth” (Luke 15:10) – Bro Jose.

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).
